Named in honor of Magnus Lundström (1967– ), a former student of astronomy at Uppsala and at the German Aerospace Research Establishment (DLR), Berlin, who was involved with a numerical study of the 4:1 Jupiter resonance and with several asteroid surveys, including the Uppsala-DLR Trojan Survey and the European Near-Earth Asteroids Search Observatories (EUNEASCO).
