Named for the Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen (1768–1844). With Canova {see planet  (6256)} he was the greatest representative of the classicistic style. His work is found in Copenhagen, in St. Peter’s in Rome, in Munich, Lucerne and Warsaw. (M 26765) _ _.
