Oirase is the name of a gorge which runs through Towada, a city in Aomori Prefecture. It is located in the northern region of Honshu, the main island of Japan. It was designated as a “Special Place of Scenic Beauty and Natural Treasure” in 1952 and attracts 2.5 million tourists annually.
