Yoshikazu Watanabe (b. 1953; Iso was his mother's maiden name) was a leading meteor observer in Japan. He is a council member of the Oriental Astronomical Association and a successful surveyor of historical records of comets and meteors in the modern Japanese era. The name was suggested by the discoverer and I. Hasegawa.
